Clive Dean had his third and final Choi procedure with our surgeon, Dr. Tsounis, toward the end of a long association with my company (NHI Hair Clinics) as a ‘patient counsellor’.

Clive had already had two previous Choi procedures with NHI’s former surgeon, whom he now represents.

“In the beginning” there was the plug. And man saw this
was good. And indeed it was “good”, for its time. Man
had some coverage of their baldness for the first time.
The results for the individual patients however remained
as a testament to its crudeness; a cobbling effect which
clearly indicated that they had had some sort of cosmetic
procedure. This obviously militated against the reason for
having the procedure in the first place; although not being
seen as bald but now being seen as having an obvious
cosmetic procedure. Hence patients contention that they
would rather be bald and at least look natural than
wanting to look like they had been shot in the head
with a shotgun at close range!!

As hair technology advanced so did the tools used on Hair
Restoration. The “micro surgery” technique was developed.
Without going into technical and minor details, suffice to
say that this was a vast improvement on the plug method
but it still had its drawback. Lack of density and the need
for multiple sessions over a long period of time were some
of the considerations. The lack of a presentable and ”
natural looking” hairline was another significant drawback.
The effects were similar to that of the plug method -
An unnatural and obvious cosmetic procedure. Obvious to
state that the benefits for the patients (converge) were
countered/negated by the fact that one looked like they
had a cosmetic procedure – Unnatural and obvious.

Then came the Choi. The saviour of the world! (in Hair
circles anyway). A precise tool. The cutting edge of

Now we come to the crux of the matter. Notice, in
relation to the Choi I said “in the right hands’. There
